Salvador B. Gautier Hospital has posted an amazing story about the impact World Spine Outreach had again this year.

Arrival, Dominican Republic, 2022

When WSO started in 2008, the first trip had eight participants. This year’s team includes a record 44 people. Surgeons, anesthesiologists, med students, physician assistants, nurses, neuromonitors, representatives from major medical device companies, and their distributors, along with translators - all volunteers. The team acquired medical donations for a least 20 procedures. The operations will be scoliosis corrections, performed on children who have not had the opportunity before.

Plans for 2022

Skipping 2021 was a painful decision, but not entirely ours. The global COVID-19 pandemic prevented WSO from traveling and operating and all of the things that make the gift of giving so rewarding and meaningful. We are determined to be back in 2022, to Salvador B. Gautier Hospital, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. We are scheduled for April, with more than 40 medical professionals, committed to giving care where it's needed most.  We have big plans this year. We hope rather than laugh, God smiles.
